General Data Protection Regulations

On May 25th 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. This is designed to create common privacy requirements across the EU. Even though the UK voted for Brexit, the GDPR was still adopted here.

Bedfont Football & Social Club hold and process certain information about our members.
Most of this information is what is known as “personal data” in other words, it is information from which individuals can be identified.

For legal purposes, Bedfont Football & Social Club is known as the “Data
Controller”, as we decide the purposes for and means by which the personal data we hold is processed. We must do so fairly and lawfully.

The information we hold about you
Depending on the circumstances and the stage of your membership, we may hold some or all of the following information about you:

  • your name and address
  • your date of birth
  • your nationality
  • your National Insurance number
  • details about your dependants
  • medical and other details about your health

Personal data is stored electronically, with some historical paper records.

How we collect information
Your personal data will generally be collected directly from you.

How we use that information
Bedfont Football & Social Club has a legitimate interest in holding and
processing the above information about you as it is needed for us to maintain the clubs records and to comply with our obligations towards the County Football Association and Football Leagues we are registered.

For how long do we keep personal data?
We must keep all personal data safe and only hold it for as long as necessary. It is then disposed of in a managed and secure way.

Your rights

  • You have the right to see personal data that is held about you and a right to have a copy provided to you, or someone else on your behalf, in a machine readable (namely, digital) format.
  • If at any point you believe that the personal data we hold about you is inaccurate you can ask to have it corrected.
  • You can require Bedfont Football & Social Club to limit the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, for example, whilst a complaint about its accuracy is being resolved.
  • You can object to your personal data being processed, although Bedfont Football & Social Club can override this objection in certain circumstances.
  • Where you have given us your consent to processing your personal data, you can withdraw that consent at any time by notifying us. However, withdrawing your
  • consent will not affect the processing of any personal data which took place beforehand and it may be possible for Bedfont Football & Social Club tocontinue processing your personal data where this is justified.
  • You can request that your personal data is deleted altogether, although Bedfont Football & Social Club can override this request in certain circumstances.
  • You should be aware that taking any of the above steps could impact on your registration with the club and or the Football Leagues we are registered with that season.
